Founded by Patricia McLean in 1985, Patricia McLean Interiors, Inc. is located in Atlanta in the heart of Buckhead. Considered a true, traditional designer, Patricia specializes in the customization of paint colors, finishes and fabrics and layering of antiques and accessories. Guiding clients architecturally through construction to ensure the “bones” are correct for furniture placement and flow is paramount to her design philosophy.

A graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in furnishings and interiors, Patricia was selected to restore the Georgia governor’s mansion ballroom. In addition, she has been featured in the Cashiers, North Carolina Designer Showhouse and the Atlanta Symphony Associates’ Decorators’ Show House for many years, earning a 2010 American Society of Interior Designers Design Excellence Award for her work at The St. Regis Atlanta Residences. Patricia has since designed two residence model homes and the retail shop for The St. Regis Atlanta. She also received the Institute of Classical Architecture’s 2009 Philip Shutze Residential Interior Design Award for her interior design of a classic, Regency-styled custom home.

Patricia McLean Interiors has been highlighted in several books including Scalamandré Haute Décor, Show Houses 3, Interiors Southeast and Spectacular Homes of Georgia, and in numerous magazines including Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Atlanta Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens and Traditional Home. Patricia has also appeared on the television programs “Better Mornings” and “Good Day Atlanta.”

The University of Georgia honored Patricia McLean Interiors with the 2013 Bulldog 100 Award for business, ranking 21st, and the 2009 Emily Quinn Pou Professional Achievement Award. The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2013 – 2014 Book of Lists ranks the firm as one of Atlanta’s top 20 residential interior design firms.

Patricia is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Her speaking engagements include the UGA Alumni Association, the Cathedral Antiques Show, the Antiquarian Society of Gadsden, Alabama, the Atlanta History Center, Luxury Portfolio Group and the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center show rooms. She studied abroad and travels for inspiration but considers herself a true American designer. She takes an organic approach to the design process bringing her refined taste, fresh approach, vast resources and joie de vivre to each project.

Awards & Publications

2014 ASID Georgia Chapter – Design Excellence Award
In 2014, Patricia McLean Interiors received a Design Excellence Award from the Georgia Chapter of American Society of Interior Designers for her design of St. Regis Model Home Unit 1540.

Bulldog 100 – UGA Alumni Association
Patricia McLean Interiors was honored to be included in the 2013 Bulldog 100 sponsored each year by her alma mater, the University of Georgia. The Bulldog 100 recognizes the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alumni.

2010 University of Georgia College of Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Award
In 2010, Patricia McLean was honored to receive the Emily Quinn Pou Professional Achievement Award. This award recognizes graduates who have attained substantial achievements and are at the midpoint of their careers.

2011 ASID Georgia Chapter – Design Excellence Award
In 2011, Patricia McLean Interiors, Inc. received a Design Excellence Award from the Georgia Chapter of American Society of Interior Designers for her design of the master bedroom in the 2009 Atlanta Symphony Associates’ Decorators’ Show House at The St. Regis Atlanta Residences.

2009 Shutze Award
In 2009, Patricia received a Shutze Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture Southeast Chapter recognizing her Interior Design on the custom design of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Roberts’ Atlanta home. The chapter created the Shutze Awards to recognize the region’s finest practitioners of the classical design tradition. The awards were named for the internationally renowned Atlanta architect, Philip Trammell Shutze, who is revered as one of the twentieth century’s most devoted classicists.

Patricia McLean Interiors Featured in New Book, Scalamandré Haute Décor
Patricia McLean Interiors’ 2013 Atlanta Symphony Associates’ Decorators’ Show House living room is featured in this new book by Steven Stolman, president of Scalamandré. The room with the Scalamandré fabrics Patricia selected is included on pages 114-115 in the chapter “Grand and Glorious” with Joan Rivers’ New York apartment and a Bunny Williams’ project.
