President’s Letter
Welcome!
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a community of people – designers, industry representatives, educators and students – committed to interior design. Whether you are a current, or potential, ASID member, or a consumer, looking for an ASID Professional Interior Designer to assist you with your commercial or residential project, in our “Find a Designer” section, we are glad you are here. We are here to support you.
During my year as President, I give kudos to our wonderful ASID Georgia Chapter. 1,200 strong, we represent the best practices of interior design and professionalism. As the local chapter of our national organization, we strive to advance the interior design profession, and in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change peoples lives.
I am thankful to our previous leadership and our “seasoned” professionals, both Practitioners and Industry Partners, whose guidance has made our chapter what it is today, and to the Emerging Professionals and Students, whose enthusiasm and excitement shall carry us into the future.
In this time of social media, please review our web site, join our Facebook page and Twitter account to learn more about us. However, we also believe in face to face interaction. We welcome all current and potential members to our events, and to our office, so you can get to know us in person. As a not – for – profit organization, we are always in need of the time and talent of our members. Talk to me and our new Board of Directors. We will recommend committees or task forces that fit your interests. Our committees are comprised of individuals from all membership categories, to assist in “cross pollenating” your networking. It is true that the more you put in, the more you get out.
The ASID 2012 – 2013 Board of Directors and I thank you for your membership to this amazing chapter. We are honored to represent such wonderful people and talented interior designers. We celebrate the breadth and depth of the interior design practices embodied in the ASID Georgia membership and invite those with a similar passion and professionalism to join us.
